Field Service Technician

Description

Our client a leader in the weighing industry, is currently looking for a full time Scale Technician. The ideal candidate will perform and/or assist with set up, installations, repairs, maintenance, calibrations and certifications and certification of industrial and commercial weighing systems. Must have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Requirements:

Must be able to travel out of town for up to a week, as needed
A valid driver's license - Class 3 with Air Brakes Endorsement an asset
Candidate must be able to work in many different indoor environments and my be exposed to dust, dirt, and fumes as varies from site to site and be exposed to outside weather conditions
Special safety protective equipment must be worn
Must be physically able to lift 25kg hand weights
Must be punctual, hard working and have the willingness to learn
Have agood understanding of the English langauage (written and oral communciations)
Must be organized, efficient and detail oriented
Candidate must pass a background check prior to start, drug screening as required and a 3-month probationary period
May be required to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights

Responsibilities and Experience:

Troubleshoot and analyze industry related equipment and make repairs as required
Complete Legal for Trade certification / training as a Measurement Canada Accredited Technician (provided as part of training program)
Perform calibrations and preventative maintenance duties
Comply with ISO 9001 Standard
Maintain work area and equipment
Able to communicate effectively with customers and supply techincal assistance
Write neat and accurate service reports and calibration certificates
Attend company training as requested
Insures all company policies and procedures are followed
Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts an asset
Abilty to read and understand technical manuals
Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics an asset

Financial:

Hourly Wage - depends on qualifications and experience
